so — the question is — how will you survive and how will you protect your family in the months and years to come.
I started this site a few years ago with the intention of helping some friends and family prepare better for the future. I was over a friends house and they were flipping through the channels and stopped on a “prepper” show. I have always been someone who believes in being prepared but I never thought of myself as a “prepper” . I dont fit the normal definition of a prepper. I dont have years of food stashed away and and I havent turned my home into a fortress. I do however believe that I am fairly well prepared for most possibilities.
As I sat and watched the show about prepping I found myself contradicting most of what was being said. I especially disagreed with the panel of supposed experts who reviewed and then rated the different preppers plans and preparedness. After that day I started watching a few different tv shows about prepping and also took a look at some websites devoted to prepping. The more I looked the more I realized that people just dont get it. The tv shows are only focused on ratings and want to show you things that they think will generate more viewers , basically they want people talking about the show. The more people talk about it the more people will watch the show. This means that they do not show people and situations that really represent “most” people who try to prepare for the future. Instead they show you the outliers , the “crazy preppers” who think the world and society as we know it is coming to an end next week. When I checked out several different websites about prepping I could instantly see that all they were interested in was selling things. They were not trying to actually help people , and in many cases were hurting people by misleading them , just to make them buy more and more things from the website. Every prepping site I went to basically sold the same items and had similar dire warnings about the future and why you needed to buy a lot of stuff .
so — the question is — how will you survive and how will you protect your family in the months and years to come.
The question seems like a very straightforward question and you would expect there to be a corresponding straightforward answer. Unfortunately that is not the case. There are as many different answers as there are people who ask the question.
Over the next bunch of blog entries we will explore the question and some of the possible answers.
If nothing else I really want people to understand that for 99.9% of them the things they are doing to prepare are all wrong and will not protect them or their family. I will attempt to help you understand the changes that you need to make in your strategy and why.
